RAI-71 are explosive weapons resembling a modified Gyrojet MKII. These guns are incredibly powerful, with bullets that generate approximately the same energy as 2 sticks of dynamite upon being fired with little recoil. The destructive properties these guns possess are due to them using a mix of gunpowder, firesalt and a golden glitter-like powder nicknamed "Pixie Dust". Pixie Dust in particular, is incredibly reactive, enabling high destruction power.

RAI-71 can fire 25 bullets before running out of ammo, after which, it will be unusable for 5 weeks until the gun "recharges". The firing rate of the gun is relatively fast, as well as having an extremely durable barrel, allowing the gun to withstand immense pressure. The gun also has a small container of Lucky O’ Milk attached to it, acting as a coolant to prevent the gun from malfunctioning.

RAI-71 has a value to 7 according to the internal Neith financial system, meaning that while access to the weapon is possible for an operative of Neith Division, it is very rarely seen used by lower ranking members. This is because RAI-71 is produced by modifying Object 71, more commonly known as "Pixie Guns", which are an already uncommon object, using several valuable metals to do so. Thus, production of the gun is very expensive and it's file is classified from the public.

RAI-71 is mostly used by elite operatives of Task Force PYRAMID on expeditions. In training, operatives are given the knowledge on how to use the object to blow apart barriers as well as neutralize several heavy entities. In particular being Wretches as well as particularly large Deathmoths. The highly destructive capabilities of the gun are particularly effective against armored targets as well, albeit not in close quarters combat.

In several mines, RAI-71 is latched onto turrets that can be fired using a remote control. This not only allows for stones to be cleared more efficiently, it also allows tunnels to be constructed as well. Currently, a main tunnel is being constructed connecting the entrance of Zone 8 from Zone 6 directly to the Monorail entrance in Zone 9. The tunnel, when constructed fully, will allow new wanderers to be able to enter the highly populated Zone 11 instead of taking the risky 9th road, bypassing 2 heavily unsafe levels.

The only other group that uses RAI-71 is the Backrooms Robotics, as they are one of the main manufacturers of the product as well as taking an important role in the research and invention of the product. While they have not shared detailed information regarding their usage of RAI-71, it is presumed that they could be using it to gather resources.

RAI-71, unlike it's pre-modified counterpart, is far more reliable and safer to use. While the latter's firing accuracy is very inconsistent, RAI-71 matches the accuracy of a standard factory hunting rifle. Pixie Guns are also prone to exploding upon use, killing the user as well as those in proximity of it. RAI-71 does not have that issue as it has a coolant of Lucky O' Milk, preventing the gun from exploding upon use.
