Description

A room covered in pink flowers.

Level 103; entrance area.

Level 103 is an interior space near-entirely covered in a thick layer of floral vegetation. The level presents itself as an interconnected web of rooms, which all share a similar architectural structure—namely a square shape, round columns, recessed lighting, and open floor plans. The light on the level originates from both wall and ceiling fixtures—the only parts of the level not fully engulfed in plants. The true scale of the level is unknown, but circumstantial evidence suggests it is finite.

The walls, floors, and ceilings of Level 103 are inundated by an unknown species of scandent vine. The stem of each vine consists of dozens of contiguous corymb1, all bearing vibrant pink, hydrangea-like flowers. First-hand accounts suggest that the plants within the level are in a constant state of bloom. The flowers release a fine particulate that lingers in the air, likely serving as a mechanism for self-pollination, defense, and possibly predation.

There is a dense network of roots comprising the entire floor of the level. This layer is intermingled with a malleable dark red material—often noted as being wet or sticky. Wanderers have reported that the ground beneath the layer of roots feels uneven, jagged, or "crunchy".

Discovery

Retro photo of a room covered in pink flowers.

Level 103; circa ~1987.

Until recently, Level 103 existed as an undocumented, unconfirmed level, only known by a single photograph submitted to the G.P.D. in 1987. The level was finally confirmed in 2025, when the entrance temporarily occupied a supply closet in a New Times Square apartment complex. On the day of the encounter, two children2 entered the supply closet and did not re-emerge. Their babysitter3 entered shortly after in an attempt to locate them but also failed to return. A local TGPF4 office was subsequently contacted, and security officer Nancy Hill was dispatched to investigate. Hill entered the supply closet and was recovered, alone, after almost two hours within Level 103. Her radio transmissions and the video footage she captured are the most substantial documentation of the level.

Update

In February 2026 the entrance to Level 103 reappeared, this time in Level 3, within the M.E.G.'s Base Gamma. A detachment of Team "Blooming Blossoms" was equipped with hazmat gear and tasked with recovering material from the level before it disappeared.

Level 103 root removal.

The most notable discovery occurred during the process of removing a section of roots. Beneath the network of roots and biological material7 a multitude of skeletal remains were located. The true depth of this layer of bones is unknown, though the team confirmed it descends at least one and a half meters. Though a majority of these remains were human, bones belonging to Hounds, Clumps, and at least two unidentified species were also discovered.

Many samples were recovered during this excursion into Level 103. They have greatly enhanced our understanding of the level just as often as they have complicated it. Of these samples, a total of seven fully intact vines were extracted. Each sample was given different conditions and "food" in order to keep them alive, though only one was successfully transplanted.

Designated "Specimen 6", the only surviving sample was planted in the corpse of a Hound. The sample grew 26 additional stolons and offshoots, completely encapsulating the corpse in roots and covering a large portion of the wall in the supply closet it was stored in. After three months, the plants began to wilt and eventually died—leaving behind fully denuded bones. The leading hypothesis entails the species requires a consistent carnivorous diet to survive.

Traversal

There is no known permanent entrance to Level 103; the access point shifts after an undetermined period of time. All documented incursions have occurred when a wanderer enters a door that did not previously lead to the level. Notably, every reported incident has taken place in areas of increased human population. Whether this pattern is intentional or merely coincidental remains unknown.

While an entrance is active, the exit door remains stable—though the duration of this stability is uncertain. If you find yourself within Level 103, you are strongly advised to turn around and exit immediately.
