Level 287 - "Glitched Halls"
- {$one}.
- {$two}.
- {$three}.
The ongoing halls of Level 287.
Level 287 is the 288th level of the backrooms.
Description
Level 287 also known as "Glitched Halls" is an theoretically infinite hallway with doors on both sides and occasional turns. The level surroundings are made of gray and white carpeting with a design that doesn't resemble anything at all, concrete white walls devoid of any decorations and a black ceiling that is highly reflective. Going among the ceiling there are small, round and bright LED lamps, scattered around 5 meters (16.4 feet). Although the walls don't have any decorations, occasionally among the wall one can find electrical outlets and vents, that both are in black. But the main thing are the doors. These are plain, dark gray doors, which majority is locked. Unlocked doors the lead to an exit or a small room, that has the same elements as the hallways and mostly are empty and are always safe points of the level. See M.E.G. level 287 Incident 1 Report.
While in Level 287, instead of the typical hum-buzzing of lights, wanderer's will hear piano noises that range from a single note, to snippets of music, to randomly played notes, to whole melodies, to one note being played repeatedly, while sometimes even cutting into each other, creating crash/blue screen sounds. The piano seems to have an psychological effect on those stuck in the level as wanderers get struck by a sense of fear and paranoia when hearing quicker tunes being played, while the slower sounds make one feel calm and safe. It's unknown for now if the sounds mean something and currently The M.E.G. is investigating it's cause.
There is an interesting effect on wanderers and objects (for example cameras will show the effect when video from it is played) that traverse this level. While going further down the level, their vision will begin to appear similar to that of a VHS tape. At this period beings in this level will start to hear '90s ads being played from random directions around the wanderer, although the source couldn't be found to this day. While most of them are from The Frontrooms, some ads can be heard regarding to the Backrooms. Typically the ads don't mean anything and should be ignored.

Gosh is this thing even running? Umm, alright. Hello wanderers! You may wonder, what do we want from you or who are we. We are The Backrooms Remodeling Co. and we want.. Us to renovate your space! Yep, that's right! Having an shifting hallway? We can fix that! Your place looks like abandoned? We can fix that! And now we can do it, for FREE! So grab your phone and call (voice cannot be heard) so you don't miss out on the opportunity! Don't we normally work for free anyways?
Going down even further wanderers will start to see static in their vision. At this point it is strongly advised to find a desired exit and leave the level. But if the wanderer chooses to explore the level further, their vision will slowly fade to black and white static. At this point
Almond Water starts to drip out of the ceiling and making puddles at the floor. This water is usually not safe to drink due to bacteria and dirt found inside it.
Something else that can be found here are "The Shady Businessmen". These entities look like typical Froontrooms businessmen, although their human features are invisible to the human eye, speaking of which, they have an giant eyeball as their head. These businessmen can be interacted with but it is strongly not advised as they seem to speak only the languages that wanderers don't understand. It is unknown how they manage to speak as they don't posses any mouth or any other sound device on them. If an interaction occurs try not to accept anything it's promising. See M.E.G. level 287 Incident 2 Report.
When wanderers start seeing the businessmen it is demanded that at any circumstances wanderers shouldn't turn back, instead they should walk towards the NEAREST exit as fast as possible. And that is because Level's 287 second exclusive entity that goes by the name "Nutrisha". This entity starts to slowly stalk wanderers as they traverse Level 287. When the wanderer hadn't see any businessmen Nutrisha will simply disappear the moment when looked at. But otherwise when looked at, the entity will show the wanderers its appearance, but it true presence is undetermined as each wanderer reported described a different appearance. After a few seconds the wanderer will pass out, just to awake typically injured in a totally different level, that is often a dangerous, unexplored or a trap level.
Bases, Outposts and Communities
There are no known bases, outposts or communities on this level. Although The M.E.G. is trying to set up an outpost in 3 nearest rooms from the entrance.
Glitches
As the name suggest, halls of Level 287 may sometimes glitch. These glitches may occur at any time, so always be aware of your surroundings. While some glitches are harmless some may be dangerous.
As the name suggest, during this glitch the surroundings will be devoid of any textures, commonly leading the terrain to appear as purple and black checkerboard, dark and light gray checkerboard, blindingly white or void like black. This is the safest glitch that can occur on Level 287 as the boundaries during this glitch do not change.
The Lag is when the wanderer is experiencing typical lag symptoms found when playing video games like delay, backing off actions, being able to do nothing. But sometimes the surroundings may be lagged. This is noticeable when doors can be heard opening but are still in place.
When this glitch occurs, parts of the corridors of Level 287 will clip into each other in many different rotations. This can make openings in the walls, floor and ceiling. Make sure to latch yourself to something as falling of usually ends up one being in the void.
This glitch often makes the textures of the level appear smeared and pixelated, while the level itself may appear blocky. Lightning will not cast shadow or power off completely. it is suggested to leave affected area quickly as the area can clip into the wanderer body parts either ripping them apart or no-clipping wanderers to a different level.
This glitch is encountered by no-clipping in a barely opened exit door, which may lead to "The exit -1". This "exit" is actually a trap. It seem like a typical level 1 layout but when an exit is used the wanderer is going to be back again at this fake level 1. It is not recommended to use this glitch as the trap is devoid of any resources leaving you to a long and painful death.
As the name states, this glitch is used to duplicate items. It is done by grabbing the item you desire to duplicate, then try to no-clip the item through the wall while still holding the item. If done correctly, the item of desire should have a copy of it at the floor.
But do you really have the desire to cheat your way through it all?
Incident reports
Begin Log: 18:24
Team Involved: M.E.G. Team "Kornas"
Kornas: Found anything interesting yet Michael?
Michael: Nope.
Kornas: Remind me pal. Why did we choose to do this, over checking up on the houses in the suburb? I mean it would be far more interesting than checking those rooms. Only time there was something in there it was a small table in the center of the room.
Michael: I couldn't see myself going there honestly. The one time I found a pocket was truly traumatizing. Thank God I learned how to force no-clip.
Kornas: That didn't answer my question but done talking let's get this job done quick…
Kornas: Locked. Locked. Locked. Exit. Locked. Room, empty tho. Locked. Locked. Locked. Room, still empty as usual. Locked.
Michael: Why does he want to get out from here so-
[Door is being opened]
Michael: -o oh what the fuck.
Kornas: Whacha you sayin'?
[Aggressive door shutting can be heard while the camera turns away.]
Michael: Kornas? Remember when you was saying some shit about there being nothing in these rooms? Yea? Come and see it.
Kornas: Did the Gods of the Backrooms finally heard me?
[Door is being opened again.]
Kornas: I know, I know. Well what do we have… Oh Shit.
[Entity scream is being heard while it comes out of the room.]
Kornas: Michael! Grab a gun, a weapon or something!
Michael: Umm, ye sure hold on!
[Couple gunshots are heard.]
Michael: Ya alright Kornas?
Kornas: Ye, ye just mildly hur-
[Kornas colapses.]
Michael: Oh shit.
Post Incident Summary: M.E.G. escort team was called shortly. Near the room was an Skin-Stealer body. Inside the room team found 10 Smilers, 8 Wretcheds, 2 female Deathmoths and 9 Clumps. All entities were terminated. Kornas is now at the recovery center and he's healing slowly.
Not all rooms are empty as we thought. Please remain conscious while exploring Level's 287 rooms or avoid them at all.

Begin Log: 09:57
Team Involved: M.E.G. Team "Hela"
Hela: What even is the deal with the businessmen on this level?
Kenny: Well they only speak language we don't understand. I'm not really sure how they know what languages they know we don't know tho.
[The Shady Businessman approaches the two.]
The Shady Businessman: Czy strzyżesz swe koty? Ja świetnie strzyże moje koty. Pomogę ci z ich strzyżeniem.
Kenny: N-
Hela: Umm, yea sure, why not?
[Wanderer and the businessman do a handshake]
Kenny: Ugh, you're such an idiot, you know that?
Later at level 5
Hela: So as I was saying, I took its deal. I don't know what he was saying but cant be that bad? Like it didn't sound negative from my point of view.
Kenny: Oh, yea, sure. Don't cry then when horde of entities crawls up here to us.
Philip: Eh, Kenny you're being dramatic. Anyways I'm going to level 6 so see ya soon!
Kenny: Yea, yea.
[Door can be heard opening.]
Hilary: Yoo look I tamed Samantha!
Hela: Aww, soo adorable! Mind if I pet?
Kenny: Finally something positive today.
[The Shady Businessman appeared in the corner.]
Hela: Huh? No… Why are you here?!?
Kenny: Told ya, and you wouldn't listen.
Hillary: Hela who is he? Or it? I don't know at this point.
[While The Shady Businessman walks towards Samantha it slowly pulls out a pair of scissors.]
Hela: Oh hell no. Watch out!
Kenny: If only you didn't take his d- fuck no. Everyone! Get away!
[Camera is being dropped while The Shady Businessman starts cutting fur of the entity. Soon quickly after the the "trimming" is finished, The Shady Businessman disappears showing the cat missing its fur and tail.]
Hillary: God have mercy.
[Samantha hisses in rage and starts attacking the wanderers.]
Kenny: Fuck no. I'm getting out of here. [Kenny forcibly no-clips out of the level.]
Hillary: Hela, OW! Help me with this stupid cat!
Hela: We don't need to film this anymore. C'mon turn off you stupid cam-
Post Incident Summary: A M.E.G. volunteer squad called by Kenny arrived quickly after, they found the wanderers covered in heavy scratches and bite marks, and the entity was cadged. During the report, research team found out that the businessman spoke to Hela in polish and said "Do you trim your cats? I trim my cats very well. I'll help you trim them.". Other reports show businessmen stealing wanderer's supplies and throwing them back like meteorites and filling a 4 story building with water and calling it a swimming pool.
Because of this incident it is suggested to avoid all interactions with the businessmen on Level 287 as it seems they seek amusement in weird ways.

Entrances And Exits
Entrances
Breaking a wall in level 0 and stepping through is going to lead one here. Also many dark doors often lead to this level.
Exits
Many unlocked doors commonly lead to other levels such as: level 0, level 2, level 289. Finding any white doors lead to level 484, while doors that are upside down lead to level 1.5. Falling of the level during the clipping glitch will lead to the void.
But don't you ever dare try to no-clip through the locked doors.
