Attention!

Entering Level 310 poses significant risks due to its unpredictability and lack of natural resources. Prioritize safety by wearing a dust-filtering mask or covering your mouth with clothing while traveling. Without the proper equipment and provisions, navigating this level can be extremely difficult.

Take necessary caution!

Description:

Level 310 is a series of severely damaged urban areas that extend across two facing flat planes1, separated by approximately three kilometers. The two planes are positioned vertically, with one suspended above the other, giving a hazy view of the opposing city in the far distance. Wanderers can appear on either side upon entry; however, determining precisely on which — especially when entering as a group — proves difficult, with an equal chance of ending up on either.

The entire expanse of the level is covered in an abundance of lingering dust and smog that bears a noticeably warm hue. This dense haze heavily obstructs wanderers' view of their surroundings, as well as imparting a distinctive yellow color to the atmosphere.

* Gravitational Shifts *

Each plane has its own gravity, creating an opposing gravitational pull. This results in a cycle where one side gradually gains strength as the other weakens concurrently, leading to a fluctuating balance between the platforms. Over time, a persistent layer of waste had accumulated, indicating the anomaly existed years before Level 310 was discovered. The repeated lifting and dropping of this layer onto the opposite plane causes further structural deterioration and increases the risk of wanderers being caught in flying rubble or crushed under the accumulating debris.

These gravitational shifts seem to happen at random intervals. Signs of an impending shift include environmental changes, rapid vibrations from objects, and sudden changes in the direction of falling debris. Despite its effects on objects, wanderers and entities appear unaffected by it, experiencing standard gravity comparable to that on Earth.

Urban areas of Level 310 are interconnected by a series of branching streets with a non-Euclidean layout, where some streets extend infinitely while others loop back on themselves. Because the streets are open to the sky, they are densely covered in debris, often piling up to several meters high, making some buildings inaccessible. Despite the destruction, intact objects can be found among the debris, including personal items, as well as blank road signs, benches, bins, and other objects typical of cities from the Frontrooms.

* The Day/Night Cycle *

The level experiences a day/night cycle of approximately 12 hours, during which nighttime extends for over 8 hours. However, measurements have shown that the length of nighttime appears to be gradually increasing, rendering the currently recorded time potentially unreliable.

A large object that replicates the sun — resembling an enlarged incandescent light bulb — floats between the two planes, illuminating the entire level. The sun is visibly cracked, possibly due to debris that has been constantly impacting it for long periods of time, leading to the hypothesis that this may cause the night's gradual lengthening. Regardless of how far a wanderer travels, the object seems to remain in the same position, always appearing to be in the center of Level 310. As night approaches, its luminosity gradually diminishes, eventually vanishing completely and plunging the level into darkness.

* The Buildings *

The buildings on Level 310 vary in style and form, resembling a typical urban landscape. However, they are heavily damaged, with some rendered nearly unrecognizable.

Despite their decayed state, these buildings remain the safest refuge from the falling debris. Therefore, it is recommended to use them as temporary shelter, especially at night. Consequently, we have created a short guide with essential tips on how to safely settle within these structures.

General Precautions:

1. The buildings on Level 310 are prone to collapse; find a location that offers a stable structure, such as corners or rooms with sturdy construction.

  • These include structures with a solid roof; however, it is important to check for any structural deterioration that may cause it to collapse on itself.

2. Avoid any buildings and rooms that:

  • a) Have an open roof.
  • b) Have a large amount of debris stacked on their roofs; it may collapse under the immense weight, or the debris may suddenly give way and fall.

3. When taking cover, only move to another room or building if the current area becomes compromised due to debris accumulation.

  • If one finds oneself trapped, it is crucial to remain calm. Wait for a new gravitational shift to occur; this may either lift the debris or create visible openings leading to an exit. Otherwise, do not attempt to force an escape.

Entities:

Numerous entities can be encountered within Level 310, including Smilers, Clumps, and Death Rats. However, sightings of previously unobserved entities have been reported on this level. These entities are rarely seen and are only vaguely described. While no hostile interactions have been recorded, it is advised to avoid approaching them.

* Light Seekers *

A wanderer's artistic depiction of the entity.

Light Seekers are tall, emaciated humanoid entities inhabiting Level 310, typically standing between 6 and 8 feet in height. They are easily identifiable by the lampshade or lantern-like protrusion at the end of their necks, which houses a single light bulb that varies in appearance and is encircled by swarms of male Death Moths. Their bodies are encased in a thick layer of rusted metal on the outside. While this protective shell effectively shields them from falling debris, it is not impervious, and visible dents appear on their surfaces. The shell appears to be extremely heavy, making the entities struggle to support their own weight, as evidenced by the unnatural shaking of their legs. Occasionally, some entities are seen without limbs, revealing a glowing material that makes up their insides. This suggests that they have no skeletal structures, internal organs, or tissues.

Entrances and Exits:

* Entrances *

Level 310 can be accessed by no-clipping through a wall on Level 44 or through the floor in sections of Level 11 obscured by dense smog.

* Exits *

The most efficient and reliable method of exiting the level is to identify and exploit unstable areas that allow for no-clipping through, which leads directly to Level 255. However, if this option is unavailable, navigating through a sewer hatch provides an alternative exit route to levels such as Level 34 and Level 76.

Attention wanderers!

We have received your reports and can confirm that Level 310 is undergoing simultanious changes, the significance of which remains undetermined. M.E.G. operatives who have recently spent time within the level reported the entities native to Level 310, Light Seekers, beginning to appear in large numbers, showing heightened irritability. If any of you end up in Level 310, do not approach these entities; do not even look at them.

The cause of this abrupt change in behavior is unknown — investigations are pending but are not a priority, due to the danger the level poses.

Stay safe.
