The Backrooms

Hi. I don't usually make these, but this time I felt like it'd be weird if I didn't. Some may recognize this as my alt draft from Duelcon2025.

This is a page about a lot of things. I wrote it with a lot of things running through my mind, in a very dark place. It's about hatred and pain and sleepless nights, about every part of life that pulls at my heart and consumes my skull, about things I can't express more comprehensibly than this very page. It is the rawest thing I have ever written. I have probably called past drafts/pages experimental before, but this one takes the cake. There are a plethora of ways to interpret the meaning here, and all of them are as right as you want them to be.

There are a lot of reasons not to like this page, and I figure it might not survive. I'm not sure I really care. I still wrote it regardless.

Side trivia: The writing style is heavily inspired by a very specific page. It's probably obvious if you've read it.

i really enjoyed this piece and exploring the many meaning it may hold; though the ending, especially stuck with me the most.

i wouldn't let the lack of upvotes discourage you; sometimes more experimental and introspective works like these take longer to find their audience (as if this site ever had any to begin with). this is a strong story that, i believe, is worth being proud of.

i enjoy the fact that this is intepretive. My particular intpretation was like a diavolo death loop. Or it could be a metaphor for fear. Either ways, brilliant stuff. The writing itself is very nice. Idk, I suck at compliments. I dig this page and each visuals it gave off. May steal to make a follow up as I always do. hm. +1
