To be honest, I had no inspirations for writing anything for Roots2024 until I saw the photo with the orbs. They are still debated in many photography and paranormal circles.

I thought, "What if we had a phenomenon common to several universes? Like a multiverse version of quicksand? Except that all life essence would disappear while the body remains? Like those unfortunates in real life who are sucked out of small holes in high altitude aircraft?"

I wanted to keep things open-ended. We'll see where it goes.

(Edit:) I thought that it would be interesting for readers to try and "capture" orbs in photographs on their cell phones. Not the dangerous kind. Just the "fun" ones!

Ha! Yes, indeed. Rods and orbs share so many "qualities."

I chose orbs because, well, orbs were visible in those original photographs.

Because of their very nature, orbs are hard to understand in real life.

But, orbs are a phenomenon, of sorts. And, there were orbs in that photo.

Phenomenon 30 is just a little thing, written to show my support for this Wiki in homage to the photos that brought us all here. Readers and votes are harder to come by nowadays. I used to pass deletion thresholds in an hour, two at most. No more.
