The Backrooms

Hi!

For those who are like "why is the B.N.T.G. being so sussy?", the version of the B.N.T.G. that I write is a lot more morally questionable and capitalistic than it has usually been portrayed on the site, but I think that's also about where the upcoming rewrite of the group is going to take it!

Also, I made a new B.N.T.G. format. It's not official or anything, but I'm going to be using it in at least one other draft, so I figured I'd explain it here in case anyone wants to use it in their own B.N.T.G. stuff:

Also, idk if the lore behind why this sublevel exists was explained that well, so lemme that rq.

Also, if anyone wants me to make an collaborative log for this, I can, but I've found that collaborative logs tend to be pretty hit or miss for whether people will actually contribute.

I’ve been wanting a fight club level for some time now and WOW did this deliver. I really hope this takes off because I cannot stress enough how much I wanna see more of this.

I love the idea of this, but I also just kinda… don't? I enjoy the meta in this, the fact that Remodelling Co would remodel a level which out of universe people don't like and it would fuck up on a date that's… close enough to when I posted the rewrite is also a very nice little idea.

I do very much also like the content of this! A lot of enjoyment to be had out of the fights at the bottom, and a very interesting layout to boot with those, and puts that theme you just made to very good use too!

Personally though, I don't like the initial premise. Meta-wise, yes, the level's description and layout was replaced, but in the story of the parent article, it's somewhat obvious that the new 998 has always existed

Now, of course there isn't a canon to the wiki, I am well aware of that and I do like that 998.2 tries out new shit, but since I'm coming from the perspective of someone who rewrote 998 and has it connected into other articles, I don't like that discrepancy between a parent and sub-level, 'specially given how closely connected those two things are via virtue of what their names are.

It coouuuuld be seen as a petty, silly little reason to downdoot, but here I be downdooting it, I s'pose?
