Glad to be a part of it. Nice to see the ancient times of Level 0.
]]>Thank you. I saw the trimmed Growler entity after I made the name, and basically went, "Too late now."
Yeah I see, although growlers could be just a nickname that was in-universe given to here two entities completely coincidentally and unreleted
Or maybe since the growler entity is trimmed it could potentially be re-writen in a way that they were both the same in the ancient past, and thru time the ancient growlers had a divergence in evolution and the growlers who roamed dark areas evolved into what we know as smilers while growlers who roamed lit areas evolved into the modern growler somehow? Idk these are all just funny thoughts I had
Also, in terms of the eurocentricism, all I can say is that technically the N.T.G. is European so it would make sense.
Ya the N.T.G. makes sense
the real reason for this is mainly because of my lack of creativity.
Aww don't blame yourself now, this bias is way more common then you think and it's natural
And if you ever struggle with foreign architecture, aesthetics and history you can always reach out to the international folks, there's a lot of them and they are always eager to help and explain about their parts of the world (I personally know a lot about eastern European history and post-stalinist brutalitist architecture since I'm Bulgarian)
]]>I have always been a huge sucker for the concept of the backrooms being different across history and I feel like this sub-level was made just for me
I absolute adore the concept of this growing time capsule bubble anomaly that prevents the level from evolving including not just the level but phenomena and entities as well
I really love the ancient smiler as it goes perfectly with the way I imagine smilers although the name " growlers " low-key confused me because I thought it was refuring somehow to another entity but I guess the name is just a coincidence lol
Although I praise this page a lot there are some funny things… Like a couple of Grammer mistakes and a broken footnote but eh I am not a Grammernazi and i myself make a lot of Grammer mistakes so I don't mind it + the mistakes can be simply just explained as being made by the person in-universe who wrote the article
My biggest critique tho would be that the page is VERY eurocentric. like come on everything except the Egyptian part is literally European architecture and aesthetics and it's lowk anti-cinematic considering Europeans don't even make up a majority of the global population at any time period if the level tried to mimic the most common human architecture
Other that I love this article, although I can already tell that a lot of people will get mad at this page but honestly man just ignore them, they are a bunch of fun hating purists who refuse to handle the idea of creativity and diverse viewpoints
To end it all off, I would love to read more pages of this nature! There is a lot of potential here, for example how on level 7 there is reports of various humanoid and gigantic skeletons deep underwater + particles of carpet being discovered in the water implying that whatever the floor of the ocean is it is covered in carpet, over all implying that level was a drastically different place at one point in time, perhaps ya could write a sub-level revolving around that! (Or maybe you can aim even higher since level 7 recently got trimmed for a re-write hmmm?)
]]>I will make a few comments though.
