It's primarily the flat description of the environment, coupled with an audio log that reiterates information already covered in the clinical section, resulting in a lack of "takeaway" for the reader after reading the page.

(you should definitely do a rewrite if you ever get the motivation, because the idea of a backrooms equivalent of seasickness sounds like a fire concept.)
