For some reason, it endeared itself to me within the first few paragraphs. The prose is simple, and here, it can afford to be simple because it's effective; it works for what it's trying to do.

Wanderers who have visited Level 39 state that it felt unnaturally calming to them.

When I reached this part, I audibly groaned (figure of speech). Levels like 14 fit the compulsion gimmick, but here it feels hastily shoved in, without any of the subtle-ness present in the first few paragraphs. Afterwards, the level quietly fizzles out during The Borders section, which is a shame.

Basically, since 37 is now a pool level and not a jungle level, it no longer made sense for 39's trees to lead into 37's trees, since 37 doesn't have any.
