IMHO, neither level look as if they would appeal to pre-modern peoples.

If anything, more recent tales involving The Lost imply that they are "elsewhere" — either parts of levels that are hidden to the primary group of wanderers (or us), or on levels that are hidden from us. I'll admit I like the idea they are mysterious or hidden from the other groups (like the M.E.G.), but there are established means of communicating with them. Perhaps they have members living amongst the contemporary humans in disguise, to keep an eye on them, perhaps a few who simply wanted to live a modern lifestyle.

Has there been any thought given to updating some or all of the information concerning them?
