Wow, it’s really been a journey, huh? If you’ve made it this far, I’d just like to say thank you for sticking it out. This project has been a long time in the works, and was a super big time commitment for me. It started with the main goal of properly establishing Spec as a character, and not just “some guy.” From there, it evolved into the 8 offset monstrosity you’ve just finished.
I’d like to thank Praetor, Saria, Pin, Scutoid, Signet, Ghostchibi, Sky, Nate, and every other poor soul who I sent the 3rd page to. Handling a topic as dark and as serious as it did was a very fine line, but one I felt important to walk. Staying true to the “backrooms wikidot author” stereotype, a lot of that portion was heavily based on my own personal experiences. Fortunately for me, I was able to notice the signs and end up in a far better situation than Spec. Oh well, I suppose that’s par for the course in terms of “author tortures their creations.”
Finally, I’d like to leave with some acknowledgements to all those who helped in this project in major or minor ways
To Nate— for reviewing this thing tirelessly.
To Saria— for helping me piece together the third offset in a way I was happy with
To Praetor— for allowing me to pester them daily in dms and helping me post this
To Deer— for writing all of Leo’s dialogue in the 4th offset, and helping me be in character for the last one.
To Signet— for letting me harass them in DMs about Wild Hunt lore, and for writing Herne’s lines in his intro, and checking my writing of him on the 7th offset
To Pin— for grammar checking
To Sky— for concept crit
To Ghostchibi— for helping me get a solid grounding on the first page
To Scutoid— for last minute css fixes that really helped the page’s formatting, as well as helping me with writing Morgana
To Maksus— for reading and giving general advice
To Rowan— for helping me get back into character for Janus and bring him to life in the page.
To Sky and Rey— for constantly trying to make time to read this whole ass NOVEL. I really do appreciate it.
To Niku— for helping me bring the 5th offset up to standard with the rest of the page, and encouraging words to keep trying to make it better
To Evie— for giving the final version a last glance over, and helping me cook ideas for the future
And last but not least, to Eden for helping me really get started and inspired to write this all out.
All of you have been a massive help in starting this project, and I couldn’t have done it without any of you. I’ve got some crazy plans for what happens after this, and I hope you all continue to read and enjoy.
As always, if you feel the need to downvote, do not hesitate to leave a lengthy comment as to why. I can’t improve if you never tell me what Im doing wrong. Hopefully I’ve managed to capture the essence of what I wish to convey though… that is the most important part of writing.
